I'm riding rollers now instead of a trainer. Had a Cycleops fluid trainer and it was fine. Sold it and now ride Bike Nashbar rollers and love them.

I did the Downward Spiral training vid on the rollers and it was crazy. Almost rode off the thing several times.

I had a really nice blackburn and then tried my wife's 100 dollar nashbar one and it matched my outside TT for 10 miles almost exactly. Get fluid though would be my advice. Kurt Kinetic also has power graphs on their website so that is cool. Rollers take time to get used to so if you want to jump in then a trainer is the way to go.

You may try a wind trainer which can costs between $150 and $300. It provides a great advantage for training during bad weather. It also helps you get comfortable with shifting and clipping intoand unclipping from your pedals if you’re new to using clipless pedals.

why not get a spin bike and get more time on it than time lost driving to the gym and smelling other people's sweat?
