Hi all- I am in an MBA program and wanted to get some input from you guys. Thanks in advance.

I have been to a bunch of races where there was beer served after. The Go! St. Louis Marathon and the Chicago Shamrock Shuffle to name a few.
Would people be up for wine at the post-race party?
What about other family/friends spectators- Do you think they would want some?
If there was wine served, do you think that you would think to buy that wine again- if they sponsored the race or gave coupon in the packet material?

Obviously not very early in the morning, but later. I am thinking specifically in California, but maybe elsewhere.

Also- has anyone received wine for an award. I have, but couldn't figure out the producer.

I usually go for a straight gin martini. seriously I have my family waiting at the finish line with a cold martini. but seriously wine would be good too.

I think some of the smaller races outside of STL do wine like Les Bourgeius (spelling) for some cycling and running races. Your palate changes as you workout (hence why many people cant tolerate gels bc they are too sweet in a race so you might have to be careful about the marketing. Tri it in a small group setting with the wines and a small winery might be on to something. We bought Stone Hill wine for gifts this year and they are small and outside STL.

Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

thanks for the input. The Vineyard is relatively small and I was thinking about small races as well. I understand that after a race wine wouldn't be my first choice, however what about spectators? I was also thinking it would be a good way to get in with local running, cycling, or tri teams and potentially sponsor some of them. Does that seem like a good fit?

I broke in here and feel like I'm trespassing in an old house I used to live in. Kind of creepy and cool at the same time. All of our old memories live here!
