Listened to the Swimmer/Biker/Runner episode yesterday. What sort of a swim advocate was Brett, he'd defected to the runners in his first link .
You missed a couple of big arguements.
Couldn't belive that nobody pointed out the fact that if you can't swim then you're in trouble no matter how well you bike and run. You may be able to ride your bike at 25mph but you won't be riding at 25mph if you've just spent 2hrs 'surviving' an Ironman swim in the same way that running a sub 3hr Marathon doesn't qualify you to go fast after you've ridden 112miles (this is something I know all too well ).
I'm pretty even over the 3 disciplines and know plenty of cyclists/runners who can beat me over a single discipline but can't get near me on that same discipline during a Tri because the swim or swim/bike has beaten them up too much. Swimmers always kick my ass though as they're fresh I just get them later .
Cracking show folks. More smack talk please.
PS - Congrats on the Boston race Mango, you'll get the hairy fella next time

I'm not a defector! LOL. I just remember years of watching runners blow by me at the end of the race.
